Ruta retired to Kauai from coastal Maine, where she helped start "Plastic Free Lubec." She currently actualizes her passion for a plastic-free world through the Kauai chapter of Surfrider Foundation's Ocean Friendly Restaurants and Zero Waste Kauai.
