Heather has done environmental work on the ocean and waterways for over 18 years. She loves ocean swimming, snorkeling, and scuba diving. Heather lives in Koloa, and is passionate about preserving Kauai’s beautiful coastal waters and keeping our beaches clean for all to enjoy.

John is a microbiologist and developer of biotechnology.
Carl is a research scientist, working on water quality issues in Hawaii for more than 20 years. He is active in coral reef research, watershed management, and issues relating to global climate change. He has been working with Surfrider chapters, doing water quality testing for about 10 years.

Scott enjoys protecting sea life, and has a goal to see Kauai's beaches and coastline look pristine. He moved from Kansas City Missouri to Kauai Hawaii in 2012. He has worked in the Travel Industry since 1989 and has the privilege to travel to the Hawaiian Island several times, and has decided to make Kauai his current home. He's a sports enthusiasts, and enjoys hiking, biking and traveling.

Cynthia does high tech work remotely to enable her to live on Kauai, supporting her passion for the ocean. When not on the computer she enjoys swimming out beyond the breakers and gardening, which really translates as weeding.
Secretary, Legislative Coordinator, Rise Against Plastics, Styrofoam Free Kaua'i
Gordon was a founding member of the national Surfrider Foundation and has been active in the organization for its 26 year history. He was the architect and organizer of the chapter network, as well as the Blue Water Task Force and most of the current programs that are still going today. He lives in west Kauai with his wife Diana LaBedz who has also been a Surfrider Foundation leader for over a dozen years.

Rebekah is a current student at Kauai Community College and focusing on Environmental Studies. She has held several positions in the service industry on the Mainland and Kauai where she has seen the need to reduce plastics and Styrofoam. She has been volunteering with Surfrider since 2017.
