CORE VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES: Please fill out the below form if you are interested in stepping into a leadership role. This form helps us better understand your interests and where they may overlap with our volunteer leadership needs. 

 

• Weekly Net Patrol (often requires a strenuous hike to remote and rocky coastlines to remove plastic pollution). Need beach cleaners and people with trucks to haul debris. 
• Beach Cleanups - We always need helping hands at our public beach cleanup events! These are less strenuous than net patrol and you can meet our core group of volunteers
• Water Quality Monitoring – This is a monthly activity to collect water samples from various spots around the island. You can also help with the actual testing process at our water quality lab.
• Coastal Restoration – help restore native plants and habitats
• Sustainable Ocean Friendly Landscaping – Promote landscaping and gardening practices in neighborhoods and communities
• Event planning – help plan and coordinate Surfrider’s outings, presentations, and community events
• Education – Support educational outreach with kids around Kauai
• Fundraising – help raise funds for the chapter and Surfrider’s campaigns
• Ocean Friendly Restaurants and Hotels - encouraging businesses to adopt eco-friendly practices
• Campaigns and Policy - Local, State, and Federal advocacy to influence decision makers
• Marketing - Social media, newsletters, website, outreach materials
